About me

My name is Craig Bickford and I work for International Light Technologies, a small, high-tech manufacturing company that specializes in light sources such as LEDs, LED modules, and small lamps for consumer and commercial use as well as precision light measurement equipment.

I was, for about 7 years, the Technical Support Engineer for International Light, Inc. which was a light measurement instrumentation manufacturer. Over that time period I acquired a fundamental understanding of light and light measurement and was responsible for technical support as well as sales and applications engineering. International Light merged with it’s sister company, Gilway Technical Lamp to form International Light Technologies in 2006. Over the time period that has followed since the merge, I have worked closely with our applications engineers in our technical lighting division both in a sales and engineering support role but also as the newly appointed multimedia and web developer for the company.

Currently my position affords me the opportunity to constantly discuss the lighting and light measurement developments of not only International Light Technologies but of the entire industry as well. My efforts are now concentrated on the development of our corporate catalogs and opening new information channels, such as the LED Development Blog and the Architectural Lighting Blog, for our sales and engineering staff to remain better informed and in constant contact with colleagues throughout those industries.

It is my intention to maintain this blog as a link between ILT and the larger community of engineers, product developers, marketers, and anyone else interested in sharing information about commercial/consumer LED development.

Please keep in mind however, that the opinions expressed on this blog are those of the author and/or other contributers/commenters and not those of International Light Technologies.
